Leaders in Training (LIT) Program

Growing servant leaders. Deepening discipleship. Preparing the next generation.

A Summer of Growth, Service, and Intentional Discipleship

The Leaders in Training (LIT) Program is designed for high school students who desire to grow in their faith and develop as Christ-centered leaders. More than a volunteer opportunity, LIT is an intentional discipleship experience that combines biblical growth, leadership development, and meaningful service within the life of camp.

Throughout the week, students are challenged to serve humbly, study God’s Word seriously, and build strong relationships with peers and mentors who encourage their spiritual maturity.

What the LIT Program Is

The LIT Program is a structured discipleship and leadership development experience for students entering 9th–12th grade. Participants engage in biblical teaching, theology classes, and intentional mentoring while serving alongside camp staff.

LITs are not summer staff members, but they are also more than campers. They step into a unique middle ground—learning what servant leadership looks like in action while growing in character, responsibility, and faith. The program is designed to cultivate humility, initiative, and a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Christ. Most high schoolers tell us they enjoy being an LIT more than they enjoy being a camper at BSBC!

Biblical Teaching

Deep-dive studies into scripture to build a firm theological foundation for your life.

Mentorship

Be guided by experienced camp staff who model Christ-like leadership and service.

Servant Leadership

Practical, hands-on opportunities to serve the camp community behind the scenes.

What LITs Do at Camp

LITs serve behind the scenes in the daily work that keeps camp running. This may include helping in the kitchen, washing dishes, cleaning facilities, helping in the camp store, assisting with activities, and supporting counselors where needed.

In addition to serving, LITs participate in camp life—enjoying activities such as swimming, ropes course, and other scheduled events. Throughout the week, they learn from college-age leaders and full-time staff who model servant leadership and invest in their spiritual growth.

The LIT experience is designed to prepare students not only for future opportunities at camp, but for faithful leadership in their church, home, and community.

Who can drop off or pick up my camper?

Campers may be dropped off by parents, friends, or relatives. BSBC will ask for the name of the person who is authorized to pick the camper up at the end of the week, and at pick-up, staff will check ID of that person to make sure that the camper leaves with the authorized adult. If you need to change the name of the pick-up person, please contact the office! Campers with valid driver’s licenses are allowed to drive to camp and sign themselves in and out.
