Big Sky Bible Camp Full-Time Staff

Jamy & Lisa Landis
Joella, Aleyah, Dinah, Eva, Hannah, and Caleb
Jamy Landis has served as Executive Director of Big Sky Bible Camp since 2008, providing visionary leadership that has significantly expanded the ministry’s reach, impact, and organizational capacity. During his tenure, annual camper participation has grown from approximately 400 campers to more than 1,200 campers each year. Today, Big Sky Bible Camp serves more than 4,000 campers, retreat guests, and other participants annually through its year-round programs and events.
Under Jamy’s leadership, the camp has completed several major capital improvement projects, including the construction of the $6 million, 12,000-square-foot Peterson Lake Lodge and the expansion of the camp’s Office & Welcome Center, enhancing the camp’s ability to serve guests and support ministry growth for decades to come.
Jamy is recognized as a respected Christian leader within Montana and beyond. His volunteer service includes eight years on the board of Montana Bible College (2012–2020). He also serves as an elder at First Baptist Church in Bigfork, Montana, where he directs the Redeemer Bible Institute, an intensive three-year theological training program dedicated to developing mature disciples of Christ who are grounded in Scripture, growing in godliness, and equipped for ministry and service.
Before joining Big Sky Bible Camp, Jamy served as Program Director at Victory Bible Camp in Glacier View, Alaska, from 2004 to 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Eastern University and is nearing completion of a Master of Divinity degree in Bible and Theology.
Jamy and his wife, Lisa, are deeply invested in the ministry of Big Sky Bible Camp. Lisa serves as manager of the camp kitchen and camp store, helping create a welcoming and hospitable environment for campers and guests. Together they have six children and enjoy camping, exploring national parks, reading, hockey, and outdoor adventures.

Additionally, as a family they love hiking, camping, boating, skiing, lake activities, and really anything outdoors!

Alaura, Karina, Drew, Tessa, Clint, and Molly
Matt and Carole Scherrer have been in camping ministry since 2003 and began serving at Big Sky Bible Camp in 2015. Matt is the maintenance director and Carole pitches in year-round.
