Counselors

As a counselor, your main job is to invest spiritually in the lives of campers while being challenged in your own walk with the Lord.  As a counselor you will be assigned to caring for 8-12 campers each week.  You will eat meals, play games, swim, teach Bible class, and attend chapel with your campers throughout the week along with leading and enjoying all the activities camp has to offer. As a staff member you will rotate through overnight and day camp as well as Camp Promise, our camp for people with disabilities.

You will be provided the opportunity to be certified in American Red Cross CPR/First Aid and to receive your ARC lifeguard certification. All summer staff are intentionally discipled by one of our full-time staff or a seasoned believer from our local church community.

Counselors must be 18 years of age, and it is preferred that they have at least one year of college or working experience.  Counselors should plan to be at Big Sky all summer. All summer staff positions are paid. Please contact us at 406-837-4864 for information.

Assistant Counselor

Your role as an Assistant Counselor is to provide support leadership to the head counselor — however there is no less responsibility in your role and leadership.  Assistant Counselors have the opportunity to learn from different counselors throughout the summer what it looks like to lead a group of campers.  As an Assistant Counselor, you will see first hand the joys, challenges, and rewards that come with being a camp counselor, participating in all the same activities as the counselors as you help lead your campers.

You will have the opportunity to be certified in American Red Cross CPR/First Aid and Lifeguarding as well as training to facilitate our ropes course.  All summer staff are intentionally discipled by one of the full time staff throughout the summer. Assistant Counselors will also have the opportunity to counsel for Camp Promise, which is 2 weeks of camp for the special needs community.

Assistant Counselors must be age 16 or older, and should plan to be at camp all summer. All summer staff positions are paid.  Please contact us at 406-837-4864 for more information.
